water is essential

Water nourishes, cleanses and maintains cellular function. The human body can go for three weeks without food, but can only survive a few days without water. This is because the human body is 60% water.

Once there is a 1% to 2% water loss in our body we may start experiencing the effects of dehydration. However, by the time your thirst mechanism kicks in, you have already entered into the early stages of dehydration.

NOTE: This thirst mechanism has a prominent presence in underdeveloped children and elderly citizens. Thus, making each more vulnerable.

These signs include but are not limited to:

  1. Thirstiness
  2. Fatigue, Dizziness and Headaches
  3. Foggy Brain and Low Concentration
  4. Mood Swings and Irritability
  5. Muscle Cramps
  6. Chills
  7. Constipation
  8. Back and Joint Aches
  9. Dry Skin and Wrinkles
  10. Bad Breath
  11. Sugar Cravings

NOTE: Check in regularly with your hunger and sugar cravings. These could be early signs of just being thirsty or that your body is desperately craving water.

Importance of Staying Hydrated

Once your body has lost 1%-2% of its total water content, it will signal its needs by making you feel thirsty. But, by the time your thirst mechanism kicks in, you’re already in the early stages of dehydration, so you don’t want to ignore the initial sensations of thirst. This thirst mechanism tends to be underdeveloped in children, making them more vulnerable to dehydration. The elderly are also at heightened risk. Negative things start happening to the body when we don’t keep it supplied with water.

NOTE:Hunger, and sugar cravings in particular, can be a sign that your body is crying for water. Americans only have to look at their bulging waistlines to see the results of misdirected hunger and sugar cravings.

Dangers of Bottled Water

Chemicals in the plastic bottles themselves can seep out if bottles are exposed to heat or sit around for a long time. These chemicals will leech into the water you’re drinking. Some of these chemicals are possible endocrine disruptors. No one knows for sure what all the possible health outcomes are, but do you really want your body to undergo that experiment? bottles on ocean floor Looking at this water alternative from an environmental standpoint is just one more reason bottled water represents a long-term health hazard. Plastic bottles are not biodegradable in any meaningful way. The empty bottles and their harmful chemicals can stick around for a thousand years. Even with recycling efforts, 6 out of 7 plastic bottles consumed in the U.S. are sent somewhere out of sight. For the next millennia, toxins from degrading plastic containers can leach into watersheds and soil. bottles alongtermhealthhazard That’s just not something we need to give to global neighbors and future generations. This doesn’t even take into account the petroleum needed to manufacture the plastic bottles, and the gasoline costs of getting the water to the store.

You can feel good about protecting the health of your family and the environment for a small fraction of the cost of bottled water. After your initial Multipure purchase, you can enjoy drinking 750 gallons of safe water at only 9 cents per gallon. The Multipure Water Filtration System is our “go to” solution to this disturbing problem. In short, just one Multipure solid carbon block filter cartridge replaces almost 5,700 16.9 ounce bottles.

NSF Certification is an assurance of quality, performance, and integrity. It states that:

  • The system meets the contaminant reduction claims of the manufacturer
  • The system is not adding anything harmful to the water
  • The system is structurally sound
  • Advertising, literature, and labeling are not misleading
  • The materials and manufacturing process do not change

Taking Care of Your Kidneys

Water is to our bodies as motor oil is to our cars. Now, ask yourself this: When you change the oil in your car, do you put in fresh motor oil or used oil that’s full of contaminants? Silly question, but a “healthy snack” for thought. Think of the oil filter in your car as similar to the kidneys in your body. Then consider this. Oil filters wear out from constant use, so we periodically replace them. With the exception of a very dangerous and painful kidney transplant, we cannot simply replace our kidneys. If we are dumping anything but truly pure water into our bodies, our kidneys must work overtime to remove the contaminants. Overworked kidneys lead to serious health problems as they wear out over time, so we should be doing whatever we can to reduce the stress on these vital organs. The kidneys filter waste from the bloodstream and regulate the amount of water contained within the blood. When the kidneys fail to do their job, the waste accumulates in the body. This build-up of waste may cause several symptoms, such as:

  • Loss of energy
  • Heart strain
  • Mental deficiencies such as confusion, disorientation, anxiety and delirium
  • Skin problems such as discoloration and incessant itching
  • Appetite and weight changes – either weight loss as your appetite wanes, or weight gain as your body retains extra fluid
  • Swelling of feet, legs, abdomen and other areas of your body
  • Lung congestion making breathing difficult, often called dyspnea

NOTE: As the condition worsens, your body can stop producing urine which is one of the body’s waste disposal outlets. If you are not producing any urine, death will usually occur quite soon, usually within one to two weeks.

Pregnant and Nursing Mothers

Your child’s immune system doesn’t fully develop until the age of about six months. The amniotic fluid totally replenishes itself eight times each day. Your antibodies go through the bloodstream, through the placenta and to the fetus. Since your baby relies on your antibodies to protect his/her fragile body, it is of utmost importance that you drink the absolute best quality of water possible.

NOTE: Home Water Supply Could Damage Your Unborn Child

While any home no matter how new, can have contaminated water, homes built before 1985 have a high probability of having outdated lead pipes. If you also live in an area that has soft water, the likelihood of its corrosive effects leaching lead from the pipes or solder into the water you drink is much greater. The effects of lead toxicity are well documented. As lead is absorbed into the body it interferes with the development of the nervous system and is potentially harmful to children at a far faster rate than adults. For children the result of absorbing lead has been linked to permanent behavioral disorders, learning disabilities, sluggishness and more. Adults are also at risk. High blood pressure, joint/muscle pain, memory loss and headaches have also been linked to lead exposure.

Note: Though lead is common in paint, soil and some consumer products including toys, you can rest assured that with a Multipure solid carbon block water filter, you and your family will be protected from the lead in your drinking water, giving you the peace of mind you want and deserve.

Other potential contaminants that Multipure is NSF certified to effectively reduce and you may be concerned with are:

  • Mercury
  • Disinfection by-products
  • Volatile Organic Chemicals
  • Chlorine/Chloramine (chlorine + ammonia)
  • Pharmaceutical drugs

Whether you are planning on having a baby soon, are pregnant or nursing, having a Multipure Drinking Water System in your kitchen will give you the peace of mind you want and deserve. Your baby deserves a healthy start in life and Multipure should be an integral part of it.

Who knows what the water quality is like in the RV park where you’re staying? That’s why you probably bring bottled water with you. What about the water you use for cooking, coffee and washing your produce?

Now, more than ever before, every person must take global responsibility to protect our precious planet. Enjoy our great beaches, please dispose of your empty bottles or your next trip may look like this.

beach trash

Chances are, if you’re like most of your other RV comrades, you use the park’s water for that purpose. Multipure Drinking Water Systems will make it much safer for you and your family in all aspects of kitchen use.

The following list is just a sample of many contaminants that could be found in the typical American RV park and are common in ground water.

  • MTBE (gasoline additive)
  • Benzene (petrochemical)
  • Lindane (pesticide)
  • Toxaphene (insecticide)
  • Microscopic Cysts (Giardia/cryptosporidium-Pets can be prone to this.)

While Multipure’s Standard Water Filter System is an excellent choice for eliminating the need for bottled water and/or the RV park’s questionable water supply, the new Aqualuxe Water Purifier is an even better choice. Not only will you enjoy the purest water you can get in your RV, the Aqualuxe is portable so it can do double duty as your home purification system when you’re not on the road.
